Cheshire Services Uganda (CSU) is a local NGO working in field of disability and inclusive development. We Implement programmes in five thematic areas of Education, livelihoods, health and rehabilitation, campaign and advocacy and support for everyday living. We are a member of the Leonard Cheshire Disability -Global Alliance.

CSU has received funding from the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) to implement the Girls' Education Challenge project, Transition Phase - GEC T (April 2017 - March 2024). This follows the first phase of GEC funding from DFID (March 2013 - February 2017) that has seen 2063 girls with disabilities receive educational support to enroll, learn and remain in school over the years. The project is part of the DFID's global Girls' Education Challenge (GEC) programme which is helping the world's poorest girls to improve their lives through education and supporting better ways of getting girls in school and ensuring they receive quality education to transform their future. The GEC T project is therefore providing continued educational support to the 2063 girls from GEC 1 and 500 boys with disabilities in low income communities of Greater Kampala to complete different education cycles; Primary, lower secondary, upper secondary or transition into TVET.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning are core components of the GEC-T project and are aimed at supporting effective implementation and providing evidence on what works for education of girls and boys with disabilities. Based on this therefore, four rigorous evaluations will be conducted throughout the 7 years of project implementation. These include; the baseline, 1st mid line, 2nd mid line and end line evaluation studies.

CSU therefore, seeks to procure services of an experienced Consultant (External Evaluator) to execute these assignments in a phased manner. The first assignment refers to the baseline study and is expected to last a maximum of six months (October 2017-March 2018).
