ICT provision and strategy development
PEAS-Uganda
PEAS’ mission is to ‘expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa’. We currently operate a network of 30 schools across Uganda and Zambia (28 of which are in Uganda) educating over 15,000 marginalized students, and we are one of the fastest growing, not-for-profit school networks in Africa. PEAS schools deliver a better-quality education to more disadvantaged students at a lower cost than equivalent public and private schools.
PEAS-Uganda is currently undertaking a review of instructional ICT in PEAS schools and operational ICT infrastructure used by PEAS Uganda secretariat, regions and schools, and is seeking a consultant (or consultancy team) to undertake a review and make recommendations.
Consultancy Objectives:
The consultancy spans instructional and operational ICT and includes the following objectives:
1) To assess instructional and operational ICT in PEAS schools.
2) To identify cost-effective ways to improve use of existing instructional ICT to drive teaching and learning and enhance student learning opportunities and to identify new education technology to drive teaching and learning across the curriculum.
3) To identify areas where technology could drive efficiency, effectiveness and support staff ways of working while demonstrating cost-efficiency (end-to-end costs). Operational efficiency includes knowledge sharing among teachers, school leaders, and the PEAS secretariat.
Consultancy Team:
The consultancy team is expected to contain researchers who have demonstrated experience and expertise in instructional ICT and/or operational ICT (preference will be given to those with both), and demonstrated knowledge of the context. Submissions from individuals seeking to play an advisory role as part of the project team will also be considered.
Submission Instructions:
Submissions should be sent to quotations.logs@peas.org.uk. Only submissions received at this address will be considered. Given the volume of submissions only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Closing date for submissions: 5pm on Monday, January 5th 2018
Interviews for shortlisted candidates: Week of January 15th
Final decision: Thursday, January 18th 2018
*Consultancy will be delivered by end of March and ideally in February.
Please visit the PEAS website (www.peas.org.uk) for a full description of the consultancy including criteria for evaluation of submission.
