1. The Government of the Republic of Uganda secured a loan from International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) under the Vegetable Oil Development Project Phase Two (VODP 2). It intends to use part of the proceeds of this loan for Design & Construction of 3 Landing sites and now invites bids from competent firms/companies as follows; Lot One (1): Design & Build for Landing Sites at Buvuma & Kiyindi (2 No.) Lot Two (2): Design & Build for Landing Sites at Bugala Islands (1 No.)

2. The bidding process will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in IFAD procurement guidelines of 1982 amended December 2004.

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Vegetable Oil Development Project Phase Two and inspect the bidding documents at the address given in No.6 below from 9.00am to 4.00pm local time on any working day starting from 15/01/2018.

4. A complete set of the bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address given below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX. 200,000 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency for each Lot. The Bank payment advice can be generated from Uganda Revenue Authority Porto. The document will be collected physically.

5. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of; UGX. 120,000,000 for Lot One (1) and UGX 36,000,000 for Lot Two (2) or the equivalent in the currency of the bid from a recognized financial institution as specified in the bidding document.

6. Bids must be clearly marked “Design & Build for Landing Sites Lot 1 or Lot 2” for Vegetable Oil Development Project Phase Two and must be delivered to the address below not later than 07/03/2018 by 11.00am. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

7. Bids will be opened on 07/03/2018 immediately after bid closure in the presence of the Bidders’ representatives who may choose to attend in person at the Vegetable Oil Development Project Conference Room, at the above address at 11.30am EAT.
