University Research Co., LLC OURS), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005,  is implementing the USAID's Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East Central Uganda Activity (USAID's RHITES EC)'. Purpose of this project is to support the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated investment in regional health, HIV/AIDS and nutrition assistance. This five -year activity targets 11 districts in East-Central Uganda with an estimated total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of quality health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and child development services.

URC is seeking a qualified candidate/firm to provide consultancy services for implementation of the Priorities for Local AIDS Control Efforts (PLACE) protocol in two districts of East Central Uganda, for or a fixed period not exceeding two months (March- April 2018).

Job Purpose:

 To support USAID RHITES-EC to implement the PLACE protocol with an aim of increasing local and district-level capacity to deliver and monitor effective HIV prevention programs among Key and Priority Populations.

Specific Responsibilities:

ʉۢ Work alongside project, regional and district stakeholders to spear head regional-Level preparation, protocol adaptation and district-Level engagement.

• Conduct district-level informant interviews with knowledgeable people to identify priority HIV prevention areas and specific sites with in these areas where people meet new sexual partners.

• Visit and map venues/events named by community Informants and collect information useful for planning HIV prevention interventions

• Offer interviews and HIV tests to workers and patrons at selected priority prevention area sites.

• Work with districts and other stakeholders to write, analyze, interpret and disseminate results.

• Build capacity of project and district personnel to retain skills for implementing PLACE in the future
