Ina joint coordination with Kampala Capital City Authority, the German Cooperation with the GIZ program of "Enhanced Water Security and Sanitation" (ENWASS) is supporting the improvement of urban sanitation. One of the objectives is to work with the private sector on improving pit and cesspool empyting services especially in the informal settlements of Kampala city. Data and information management is one crucial component to coordinate and monitor services along the sanitation service chain. One crucial element is to track the waste and sanitation management chain via an improved GIS mobile application that shall promote better sanitation standards and planning for more and better sanitation services.

Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise of the German Government and a provider of international cooperation services for sustainable development with over 50 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, including economic development and employment, water, energy and the environment, and peace and security.

GIZ ENWASS is looking for a professional service provider to develop a GIS enabled mobile Android Smartphone Application to track waste (faecal sludge and solid waste) management within Kampala city. The application will have a service provider interface, regulator interface and service provision demand interface including mobile payment. It shall also work off-line for data entry purposes and synchronize with the back-office system once online.
