The World Health Organization (WHO) invites bids from reputable events management organisations or agencies to organize a non-professional marathon in commemoration of WHO's 70th anniversary under the theme: "Walk the talk: The Health for All Challenge". The marathon is intended to highlight the role of all people in the promotion of Universal Health Coverage and Health for all. It will also be a unique opportunity to promote regular physical activities as part of a healthy sustainable future for all Ugandans.

The proposed marathon will be open to people of all ages and abilities and will cover three distances (short 3 kilometres, medium 5 kilometres and long 10 kilometres). The marathon will be held in August (Date to be determined). Successful bidders will be expected to:

• Identify, procure and prepare the start and end venue

• Route mapping, racing, marking and facilitation

• Liaise with authorities to ensure security at the venue an on the rout

• Provide and manage refreshments at the venue and during the marathon for 1,000 people

• Conduct aerobics and stretches before and after the marathon

• Provide a public address system and a Master of Ceremony

• Prepare memorabilia e.g. T-Shirts and sun visor caps for 1,000 people

• Document the event i.e. photography and videography.

• Give technical advice on the successful organization and management of the marathon

Interested organizations should deliver their bids clearly marked "WHO Marathon" to the WHO Country Office Plot 60, Prince Charles Drive, Kololo not later than 10th July, 2018 at 1:00pm
