The invitation follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the project that appeared in the UN Development business on line Ref: AfDB716-10/14 of 24 October 2014 and the African Development Bank website on 22 October 2014.

The Government of the Republic of Uganda has received a loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) towards the cost of the EAST AFRICAS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCY FOR SKILLS AND TERTIARY EDUCATION IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES PHASE 1 Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of these loans will be applied to eligible payments under the Contract for Construction of Multipurpose Building for Cancer Treatment and Research.

The Uganda Cancer Institute, hereinafter referred to as the executing agency for the project, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Construction of Multipurpose Building for Cancer Treatment and Research under International Competitive Bidding (ICB) to be conducted in accordance with the African Development Bank's "Rules and Procedures for the procurement of goods and works" May 2008 edition as Revised in July 2012, which is available on the Bank's website at http://www.afdb.org.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bid document at the address below during office hours (0900 to 1700).

A complete set of bid documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 400,000/-(Uganda Shillings Four Hundred Thousand only). Bidders who had earlier paid for the same tender shall

be provided with the new bid document on presentation of the receipt.

The provisions of instruction to bidders and the general conditions of contracts are those of the Bank's Standard Bidding Documents for Procurement of Works.
