Textile and Apparel Manufacturing (MTA) established in January 2010
E.C. with a paid up capital of 10 million Birr. It is located in the capital
Addis Ababa, Gulele Subcity, Woreda 08, covering 320 square meters of area. From its establishment, MTA is producing and
supplying Woven items (gown, overall, shirt and trouser uniforms, etc)
and Knitted items (Polo shirt, t-shirts, pack out, pant) for local and aiming for foreign markets. By
providing these products to the public, manufacturing industries and service
sector, MTA is filling the gap the country is facing in the textile and apparel
industry. The factory is equipped with garment technologies and production
capacities aimed for local and foreign market. As the utilization of the
capacity in past years showed low, the company has prepared strategic plan to
be competitive in quality, cost and delivery time.
The company manufacture and supply garments
with different designs, size, quality, strength, etc as customer need for clothing
to the local industries. The production and storage rooms take 320 m2 areas.
The factory has machines with a production capacity of up to 130 pcs/day Woven
items and 800 pcs/day Knitted items per eight hours shift. MTA was established
with the aim of delivering the most quality apparel products to the market. The
main fabrics, sewing threads, buttons, zippers, interlinings, linings, and other
inputs are sourced locally.

Management and personnel
The company gives a very high attention for
the management and personnel that take part in making the trade real.
Organizationally the company is structured under a General Manager that has a
departmental division who has different independent functional managers to
report to the General Manager. All the positions are filled with professionals
that have relevant capability and experience in their respective field of
category included.
The company currently employed more than 85
(60 permanent and 15 contract) workers with a variety of qualifications and
experiences related specifically to garment production and business.
1.Melaku Tegegn; is working as General
Manager/owner of the company he has a BSc degree in Textile Engineering from
BDU and is about to finish his Online master's program in Business
administration from the ACT, he has worked for 15 years of in the sector in
different positions.2. Megedlawit Demesew; is working as Deputy General
Manager/owner, she has a 10+3 diploma certificate studying design, costing, and
fabrication of garments. from Next Fashion and Design training school She has a
Certificate of Compliance (COC) from an authorized governmental agency. She has
3 years of experience in different sections of the sector3. Mahlet Nigussie;
working as a Production Manager who has a BSc in Garment Engineering from BDU,
has worked for 2 years in the production area in the sector.3. Mekdes Asnake;
working as a Deputy Prod. Supervisor has a 10+2 TVET technical diploma, she has
12 years of experience in the sector in different positions.4. Destaw Asefa;
working as Chief Mechanic & electrician, received a BSc degree in
Mechanical Engineering from BDU, he has 8 years of experience in the sector.5.
Damtew Reta; working as a senior accountant, received his bachelor's degree in
accounting from AAU, he has 15 years of experience in the field.
Production Department
The main activity of MTA in production area is the production
of quality garments from manufacturing of fabrics, sewing threads, buttons,
zippers, interlinings, linings, and other inputs. The production facilities are
fully equipped with quality materials
and the hygiene and sanitation of the plant is adequate to manufacture and
supply quality products. The production operations are periodically monitored
and verified in accordance with the requirements of the international
standards.
Technique Department
Overall infrastructural and equipment planning, activity of preventive
maintenance, and on time effective and efficient maintenance for the production
of garments is the responsibility of the technique and maintenance.
Quality Assurance Department
Inspection, control, assurance and decision of any quality parameter of
raw material, on process material and finished product are the responsibility
of quality assurance department. Integrated quality assurance system is in
place to ensure the continued supply of quality products to the consumers.
Overall controlling of the health, safety, environment, hygiene and
sanitation in the production of apparels that has a great impact for quality
production and keeping the environment clean is the main responsibility of this
department as well.
Human resource and Administration Department
This department plays a great role in supporting the production of
apparels in availing human resource. Other administrative issue is also handled
via this process.
Finance Department
This department plays a great role in supporting the production of
apparels in availing and allocating financial resource.
Commercial Department
Store:
The company has
selected reputable suppliers to ensure the quality of the incoming inputs,
enable full identification and traceability of end products and then satisfy
the customers.
Marketing, Sales and Purchasing:
This section
plays a great role in both inputs purchasing and sales and delivery of apparels
to the market. There is a structured compliant/complement handling procedure
which assures the reviewing, updating and improvement of the QMS.
