Description of the organization and its activities Malteser International is the worldwide humanitarian relief service of the Sovereign Order of Malta and legally a division of Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V. based in Cologne, Germany. Malteser International is a charitable organization recognized as a relief organization according to the Geneva Convention. Malteser International works in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas for people in need, regardless of their religion, origin or political affiliation. Its mission is to provide emergency relief as well as to implement rehabilitation measures and to facilitate the link between emergency relief and sustainable development. Malteser International is present in Uganda since 1996.
