BID NOTICE UNDER OPEN BIDDING

SUPPLY OF MOTOR VEHICLES FOR STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY
PROJECT (SGR)

MOWT/SUPLS/2015-16/00217

1. The Ministry of Works and Transport has allocated funds to be used for the acquisition of
motor vehicles for standard Gauge Railway Project (SGR).

2. The Entity invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of the above supplies.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open domestic bidding method contained in
the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at
the address given below at 8(a) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (local time) Mondays to Fridays
except public holidays.

5. The Bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of
a written application to the address below at 8(a) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of
UGX 100,000 (Uganda Shillings One hundred thousand only). The method of payment will
be Bank Payment Advice form (BPAF) obtainable from the Cash Office of the Ministry of
Works and Transport, Plot 57-59, Jinja Road, Kampala, Uganda. Bidders will then be
issued with the Bidding Document at the address given at 8(a) below upon presentation of
documentary proof of bank payment.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 8(a) at or before 11:00 am (local time) on 20th
February 2017. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 9,000,000 (nine
million) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Bid securities or bid securing
declarations must be valid until 21/09/2017. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in
the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 8(a) at
11:15 am (local time) on 20/02/2017.

7. There shall be a pre-bid meeting at the small Boardroom, Ministry of Works and Transport,
Plot 57-59, Jinja Road, Kampala, Uganda starting at 11:00 am (local time) on the dates
indicated in the proposed schedule in this notice.
