The Government of Uganda has received a credit financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) towards the cost of implementation of the Dryland Integrated Development Project in Karamoja through the Office of the Prime Minister, the Executing Agency responsible for the Implementation of the Project through Millennium Promise Alliance Uganda.

The Dryland Integrated Development Project applies a multi sectoral approach aimed at holistically addressing challenges faced by pastoralist communities that directly contribute to the objective of reducing vulnerability, building resilience and improving people's livelihoods in the districts of Moroto, Napak, Nakapiripirit and Amudat.

Office of the Prime Minister, through the Project Implementation Unit based in Moroto intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing for the procurement of works and supplies for the communities in the Karamoja region: Moroto, Nakapiripirit, Amudat and Napak Districts. This will be done under the following categories and lots.

WORKS:

A. VALLEY TANK CONSTRUCTION

LOTS:

1. Construction of the Nakumama & Nariamaregae Valley Tanks at Lotome Sub County in Napak District.

2. Construction of the Lokitelakeebu & Naminit Valley Tanks at Lotome Sub County in Napak District

3. Construction of the Namalera & Mosite Valley Tanks at Lorengedwat Sub County in Nakapiripirit District.

4. Construction of the Loboloin & Abiliep Valley Tanks at Loroo Sub County in Amudat District

5. Construction of the Poroo & Naroanginyakwae valley tanks at Nadunget and Lorengedwat Sub Counties in Moroto and Nakapiripirit Districts.

B. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION - EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE

1. Construction of a Four Unit Staff House & a School Kitchen at Kalokengel Primary School in Lotome Sub County, Napak District.

2. Construction of a Dormitory & Completion of a Two Classroom Block for Loroo Primary School in Loroo Sub County in Amudat District..

CATEGORY

B. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION -EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE

1. The project implementation unit, therefore, invites clearly marked and sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of the above works and supplies.

2. Bidding will be conducted by Open/National Competitive Bidding as per the Islamic Development Bank guidelines and is open to all eligible bidders.

3. The Bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon by cash payment of a non-refundable fee of One Hundred Thousand Shillings Only (UGX 100,000) for each lot.

4. Site visit is encouraged for all WORKS and a MUST for VALLEY TANKS that is Category A. This will be a guided visit which will be done on 18th April 2018. Depature Point: Project Office at 9:00am. Bidders must endeavor to carry-out this visit (at their own cost) and obtain a site visit certificate that will be signed off by the Project Infrastructure Co-ordinator. This has to be attached as proof of the site visit for bids to be considered for evaluation.

5. Bidders are only allowed to bid for a maximum of TWO (2) LOTS in the entire advert.
