Data Care is an Information Technology (IT) Consultancy firm that was established in July 2006 and has automated business processes for public and private agencies in Uganda as well as International agencies in East Africa and beyond. 

Data Care has rendered services ranging from business process  re-engineering, Systems Integration Services, development of information systems that are available on mobile and web platforms, Software quality assurance, training and roll out of national systems. The information systems developed by Data Care have entrenched organizations data driven decision making agendas and enabled organization processes become more visible, efficient and these processes are monitored over time and optimized for maximum productivity.

Data Care developed an Imports Inspection and Clearance Management Information System for Uganda National Bureau of Standards that integrates with E-tax platform to verify the tax identification details of importers. The platform was also customized to integrate with The Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA World).  Data Care customized its PROMISE ERP e-procurement component for Uganda Telecom Limited to automate the   in-house procurement processes and integrated the system with Sun Systems financial management system.  Data Care has also designed the system architecture for an integrated National Food and agricultural Statistics system for the Ministry of Agriculture, animal industries and fisheries. The system will be integrated with all key stakeholders information systems that collect agricultural statistics data such as Bank of Uganda, Uganda Bureau of Statistics and Uganda Revenue Authority.    

We have consolidated our progress by re-inventing our work processes by applying International standards like ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and AGILE methodology towards Project Management.  We stand by the values of Integrity, Character, Excellence and Generosity. As part of our community responsibility we offer pro bono Services to the Government of Uganda in IT Policy and Standards Development and Internship training in partnerships with Universities in Uganda.

The team at Data Care uses a combination of modern open source and licensed technologies to deliver quality products in the shortest possible time using Adaptive Software Development (ASD) processes.

Our Anchor Product is PROMISE ERP that automates the work places workflows. The ERP covers the Human Resource Processes; Procurement Processes; Contracts Management Finance Management, Customer Care, Surveys and Business Intelligence.  The work flow engine has been customised to serve industries like Electronic Medical Records, Point of Sale and Case Management Systems.
