1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in the UN Development Business online of 24th July 2013 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.

2. The Government of Uganda has received a Loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) in various currencies towards the cost of Uganda: Support to Higher Education, Science and Technology (HEST) Education V Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Furniture to Various Beneficiary Institution’s Under the ADB V HEST Project (under Lot 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.04, 4.05 and Lot 4.06).

3. The Ministry of Education and Sports (hereinafter referred to as “the Executing Agency”) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Furniture to Various

Beneficiary Institution's Under the ADB V HEST Project (under Lot 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.04, 4.05 and Lot

4.06) as indicated in the table below, hereinafter called “the Goods”). International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works (2008, revised July 2012).

LOT NO LOT DESCRIPTION

Lot 4.01 Supply, Delivery and Installation of mixed Office Furniture in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

Lot 4.02  Supply, Delivery and Installation of Polypropylene Furniture for various facilities in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

Lot 4.03 Supply, Delivery and Installation of Mixed Furniture for Libraries and Laboratories in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

Lot 4.04  Supply, Delivery and Installation of Compact Laminate Furniture in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

Lot 4.05  Supply, Delivery and Installation of Hospital Furniture in Various Facilities in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

Lot 4.06 Supply, Delivery and Installation of Furniture to the Auditoriums in the Beneficiary Institutions under the ADB V HEST Project.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and  inspect the bidding documents at the office of: -

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX

150,000/= (Uganda Shillings One hundred and fifty thousand only) or in a freely convertible currency.

6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Goods.

7. Bids must be delivered to the office indicated in paragraph 4 above, on or before 11:00 a.m. local time (=GMT+3) on 16th March, 2018 accompanied by a bid security in form of an Unconditional Bank

8. The Bids shall remain valid for One Hundred Twenty (120) days after the deadline for bid submission Prescribed above.

9. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11:30 a.m.
